Our History

  • April 25, 1976 under the leadership of Pastor David Ricker, Grace Baptist Church met in the Ricker's basement for their first service.
  • July 28, 1976 Grace Baptist Church merged with Open Door Baptist Church, which had property on North Kingshighway in St. Charles.
  • March 20, 1977 the Church voted to purchase its present location on Ehlmann Road. Two manufactured buildings were purchased and placed on the location.
  • November 19, 1978 William "Bill" Butcher became Pastor of Grace Baptist Church. He and his wife Faye came to St. Charles from Titusville, Florida.
  • May 6, 1998 the church voted Pastor Kevin Kolb to serve as Co-Pastor along side of Pastor Butcher.
  • December 6, 1998 Pastor Butcher retired and Pastor Kolb continued to serve as Pastor of Grace Baptist Church.

Through the years of personal sacrifice, long hours of hard work, devotion, and an unwavering faith in the power of God, Grace Baptist Church has become a beacon on a hill for those who need to know the healing grace of Jesus Christ. The ministries of the church have touched literally thousands of lives.
