Tim grew up in Florida, and in 1998, at 16, God changed his heart and he repented of his sins. Tim and Jenelle joined Grace Baptist Church in St. Charles, MO when he was baptized in 2006. While working in the IT field and serving in multiple ways at GBC, Tim began to desire to plant churches in Japan. Tim started a Masters degree in Church Ministry in 2007 and graduated in 2012 from Baptist Bible College. Tim and Jenelle went on a survey trip to Japan in August 2010, which led to Tim serving as a missions intern at GBC in 2011. Jenelle also graduated from Louisiana Baptist University with a Bachelors of Biblical Studies in 2015. Tim and Jenelle McCown were approved as missionaries to Japan in September 2012 and landed with their 4 children in January of 2017. They planted Christ Baptist Church in Sakado, Japan in 2019.
